What’s New in Relief and Recovery

Jul 24, 2020 by Alternative Biologics Admin

From the professional to the weekend warrior, something that all athletes of all types have in common is the need for recovery and relief.  The science around the role recovery plays in enhancing performance, reducing fatigue, and lowering the risk of injury has grown significantly in the last decade.

As we begin Summer and escape outdoors for exercise or even just some good old fresh air in the midst of a global pandemic, we are all looking for help in soothing our mind and our body.  Maybe it’s been weeks (or months) since you’ve been in your regular fitness regime. Or, perhaps, you have just a little more focus on health and the role it plays in immunity these days.  Wherever you may be on that spectrum, it is likely that your body could use a little extra TLC as you get back to serious training.  Without doubt, in training, recovery and relief are always important.

According to BreakingMuscle, keys to recovery include “sleep, hydration, nutrition, posture, heat, ice, stretching, self-myofascial release, stress management, compression, and time spent standing versus sitting versus lying down. Recovery is multifaceted and encompasses more than just muscle repair. Recovery involves chemical and hormonal balance, nervous system repair, mental state, and more.” It is important to have a multifaceted recovery and repair regime to maintain optimal performance and reduce the risk of injury.

ALTWELL, a brand of CBD infused products, created by the team who originally built the Muscle Milk® Brand, understands the needs of athletes well, including the recovery, repair and rebuild cycle.   With new CBD launches in the plant-based protein beverage and topical relief spaces, they have taken the combined knowledge they have around athletes and sports nutrition to deliver effective CBD products you can count on.

“Well the Pickett’s have done it again! These health supplement leaders have created a new and exciting line of products to improve the body, mind and one’s sleep! I have personally used and have had hundreds of my high profile athletes used their scientifically designed products for the past 25 years with amazing results! And now with their new company, ALTWELL they have once again raised the bar in the health supplement arena!  Bravo Picketts!”

Our heritage in the protein space, combined with our knowledge of flavor, led to a major breakthrough in the taste of plant- based protein powders.  We added CBD for enhanced functionality,” states founder, Greg Pickett.   Mike Pickett adds, “We believe the our new 1000mg sports balm is an excellent complement to our CBD protein specifically. Pair the two together and you have an excellent solution for comfort, recovery and relief.”

And while recovery and relief are critical elements to performance, sleep and stress management also play key roles.  Stay tuned for the next blog from ALTWELL on the importance of sleep and tips to help get a good night’s rest.
